Gardening 101

Earlier I told y'all that we were going to attempt to garden this year and I would keep you posted. Well, we are in full swing now in our attempt to "garden". Last week I drove my Granny around in TN from Co-op to store to somebodys backyard literally in the middle of nowhere (when I say it's in the middle of nowhere you know it really is) to compare prices on tomato plants. In case you didn't know, $2.99 for a tomato plant is absolutely the most ridiculous price that has ever been given to anything. $1.99 per plant is not much better. We finally settled for 6 plants for $1.99. Apparantley this is where my "cheap bargain" genes come from.
Well, we planted everything last weekend. Granny had a bucket of fertilize water and plastic cups for the boys. This kept them pretty busy (she has apparantly done this before). Michael dug the holes and pretty much did all the work. I took pictures and occasionally helped cover plants up and Granny supervised. Ole Dollar Tree (the cat) even came up to check things out when we were finished. Now if the boys just don't go back and dig everything back up we will be good!
