Ok, so I used to live off of Ramen noodles and secretly prayed that Chef Boyardee would somehow adopt me as a grandchild because I could not cook. Not only could I not cook but I really wasn't even interested in it. In my family this kind of person is known as a weirdo. :) After I got married I realized that one of us was going to have to learn how to fix something other than taco soup and cavattini. I also realized why everyone gives you recipes as wedding presents...bc you will need them! So here I am today with a house of 3 boys which means that cooking is like breathing around here. I have come to love to cook and even tivo many cooking shows. Everyone in everyone's family is good at cooking that one thing that they are known for. My Momma happens to make these chocolate chip cookies that you could kill someone with your bare hands for. I found myself really wanting some of these last night. Michael and Trever had gone to t-ball practice so it was just me and the little man. (He can't go to tball anything bc he lays on the ground and screams and kicks bc he can't play with Bubba) Anyway, so I called my Momma and got the recipe and I thought that this would be a good thing for me and Casen to cook together. "Should be fun" I thought. Normally, I pay severely for thoughts like this but this time was different. We did have fun and Casen really was a big help! My cookies turned out horrible which ticked me off honestly. I think I put too much butter in it. See, Paula Deen is my idol and I watch her nearly everyday so I didn't think you could add too much butter to anything. That was the only thing I couldn't measure bc I didn't have "sticks of butter" only tub butter. I have sticks of butter on my grocery list but this is one of those things that I don't pay for. I get them for free every 3 or 4 weeks when they go on sale + my coupons so I just eye balled what I thought was the right amount of butter. My cookies batter was too thin and my cookies too crispy. Oh well. I will know better next time! I still had fun attempting to make cookies with Casen and he had so many choc. chips that he didn't notice we never ate cookies!
